Today, Little 5 Points stands at an inflection point. The district is undergoing a generational market shift as surrounding neighborhoods blossom in density and affluency. Rising land values are pushing retail rents upwards and along with changing consumer preferences, the long-term sustainability of many of the independent retailers, restaurants, music venues, and arts and cultural institutions that define Little 5 Points’ indie alternative identity could be at risk.
Recognizing both the challenges and opportunities of these prevailing trends, the Little 5 Points Business Improvement District (BID) engaged Urban Retail Advisors to develop a Retail Recruitment Strategy focused on preserving the district’s distinctive character while positioning it for long-term economic success.
